Internet cat video fever takes over Ottawa
It’s not about watching cat videos, it’s about watching them together!

June 2 2014 (Ottawa, Ontario) – The Just for Cats Festival, celebrating all things feline, will be in Ottawa June 22nd and features the internationally renowned, expertly curated Internet Cat Video Reel produced by the prestigious Walker Art Center. From short films to six second Vine videos it’s over 65 minutes of award-winning cat videos including feline phenoms Grumpy Cat, Maru, Henri “Le Chat Noir” and Colonel Meow.

“Since its stunning debut in 2012, the Internet Cat Video reel has inspired thousands of news headlines, headlined an international tour and brought together feline film fans throughout the world,” says Barbara Cartwright, Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Federation of Humane Societies (CFHS). “It’s an experience unlike anything else in Canada and it’s coming to Ottawa”.

The Just for Cats Festival supports a national initiative to increase the welfare of cats across the country and enhance the human cat bond. The only event of its kind, the Just for Cats Festival will include a fun filled line up of artists, vendors, performances, face painting and much more. Put on your cat costume and join some very special guests and VIPs from Ottawa and celebrate our love of cats!

“We love them on the Internet but in real life cats need our help,” says Bruce Roney, Executive Director of the Ottawa Humane Society. “The Just for Cats Festival is a fun way to learn about animal adoption, responsible animal ownership and to also raise vitally important funds to help cats locally and nationally.”

All profits will support the Canadian Federation of Humane Societies and the Ottawa Humane Society.
