Canada’s largest welfare conference hits Ottawa for Canada’s 150th

The CFHS National Animal Welfare Conference, the largest Canadian conference of its kind, will take place in the nation’s capital for the first time ever April 8-11, 2017, celebrating Canada’s 150th, the 60th anniversary of the Canadian Federation of Humane Societies and the legacy of the humane sector as one of Canada’s oldest and most established change-making communities.

“This conference will help us collectively set our minds to the work that needs to be done for Canada’s animals over the next year as well as look back at some of our accomplishments in the humane sector,” says Barbara Cartwright, CEO of the Canadian Federation of Humane Societies. “Gathering in one place will allow us to set priorities together, build community and celebrate the progress we’ve made as a nation in the 150 years since Confederation.”

In keeping with the celebratory theme of this conference, we will be launching a national gala to kick off the 2017 conference, featuring NATIONAL AWARDS for those who show leadership in the fight for animal welfare. The Innovation & Leadership in Canadian Animal Welfare Awards will be presented on opening night.

THE CFHS NATIONAL ANIMAL WELFARE CONFERENCE
The CFHS National Animal Welfare Conference features dozens of different welfare topics and sets the agenda for Canada’s humane movement for the year to come.
